Being a Salt Lake City Film Photographer is so fun, especially when I get to shoot film at an iconic location like the Bonneville Salt Flats! Rebecca and Zaine’s elopement was so dreamy on digital, and maybe even dreamier on 35mm film!

Why I love specializing in Film Photography

Capturing special moments on 35mm film photography is one of my very favorite parts of what I do! There are a lot of different reasons why I love it, and I adore when I meet couples who also really value Film Photography! Rebecca and Zaine are great examples of this: they, like me, also love the colors, grain, and nostalgic feeling of 35mm film.

I always ask my couples if they are familiar with Film Photography, and if they would like it incorporated into their wedding photography. With Rebecca and Zaine, I didn’t even have to ask! They already knew they loved film and were so excited when I told them that I specialize in Film Photography!

The Colors of Film

One of the fun parts about Film Photography is that there are so many different film stocks to choose from, all of which have different coloring and depth of shadow. After lots of experimentation, I have found the perfect film for my couples, with gorgeous warm, rich coloring. The 35mm film I use gives you gorgeous skin tones and beautiful greens. The colors of film aren’t something you can really replicate through digital editing!

The Nostalgia

While a photo preserves a moment, a film photo preserves the nostalgia of that moment. It’s one of my absolute favorite parts of film photography! The grain, lower contrast, and coloring of film packs in that nostalgia into the photo. Those vintage photos give those moments an extra bit of sentimentality.

Being a Salt Lake City Photographer who specializes in 35mm film photography means I get to preserve the nostalgic feelings of your wedding or elopement memories with Utah’s beautiful scenery.

Bonneville Salt Flats Elopement Film

I’m so excited to share these gorgeous Utah elopement photos on Film! The Bonneville Salt Flats are such a unique, stunning landscape, which went perfectly with film photos. The sunset photos from this elopement day might be my very favorites!

If you would love to have Film Photography be a part of your wedding, elopement, or session, reach out and let me know! I would absolutely LOVE to photograph these special moments on film for you!
